BAYSHORE 70.4 LONG COURSE TRI March 5th 2022

SWIM 2200yd 


SWIM = 1.3mile open water  
  • Flat calm bay 
  • 2 loops - counter clockwise around buoys
  • Must exit water after first loop and run around cone.
  • Call out ace # after lap 1 & 2 
  • Wetsuit legal 
  • ​Outbound  you are swimming on the outside of the buoy line
  • ​All buoys will be on your left shoulder 
  • Turn around at checkered buoy and return on the inside of buoy line. 
  • Run to T1 is less than 200yards

BIKE 56miles 


​BIKE = 56miles (out &back)

  • NOT A CLOSED COURSE 
  • Aid Station at the turn around point before 10 FWY
  • Elevation Gain 789ft
  • Road is not closed - open to public
  • 3 right turns on way out and 2 left turns to enter the San Gabriel Bike Path  
  • About 5 Lights outbound  on streets before you hit the bike path (shouldn’t be an issue) 2 of them you will be making a right turn onto bike lane.  ​
  • The path is relatively flat with some dips under overpasses. Watch out for other cyclists. Right before mile 6ish you will make a left turn to cross a white. Do not go straight. Volunteer and race arrows will direct you to turn left.  
  • On the return - after you have hit aid station at mile 28 & loop round the cone,  head back on path. Will cross a bridge again. When path ends with less than 3miles to go…
  • Right turn onto Marina drive
  • Right turn on Marine drive again
  • Left turn onto 2nd street *this is a light head straight down 2nd street to Bayshore Ave.  
  • Hug Bayshore Ave till it dead ends into our T2 which will be across the street from T1
  • REMINDER NOT A CLOSED COURSE and ONLY 1 AID STATION BE PREPARED NUTRITION WISE 

**** If you wish to have a special needs bag at at bike aid station please bring it to packet pick up and give to Erin or one of the volunteers at checkin.

RUN 13.1 


RUN = 13.3miles  
  • 3 Flat loops with one little switch back hill :) 
  • Aid Station about every mile 
  • Aid station #1 at run start Bayshore & Ocean Blvd. 
  • Aid station #2 at the pier
  • Aid station #3 at the turn around Junipero Hill ramp - must run up the ramp and down the hill each lap
  • You will pass by the aid stations multiple times. 

All aid stations will offer:
  • Water
  • Fluid Electrolyte drinks 
  • ClifBar - bars, shots and blocks
  • Banana Halves
  • Pretzels
  • Gummy Bears

  • Flat & calm bay 
  • Must walk .3mi to swim start down the beach 
  • One way swim on the inside of the buoy line (designated swim area)
  • All buoys will be on your left shoulder  
  • Water temps between 65-61 degrees
  • Wetsuit legal 

Transition run less than 300yds

BIKE = 8.5miles 
  • Flat road 80% on bike
  • NOT A CLOSED COURSE 
  • Paths and bike lanes are open to public 
  • first turn past 3.4mile mark on shoreline bike path 
  • head back to Ocean BLVD where transition is, before crossing street to T2 make right turn down Ocean to dead end and loop back.

RUN = 4.10miles
  • Flat - out & back 
  • On the run path adjacent to bike path, along the ocean
  • One aid station at turn around by basketball courts
  • finish line is on the sand, you will cross ocean blvd past transition area and make a right past racketball courts to finish under the arch.   

FALL CLASSIC Nov. 5th 2022

Olympic Distance  7:45am Start

  • Road is not closed - open to public
  • 3 right turns on way out and 2 left turns to enter the San Gabriel Bike Path
